Set up as a family business, the company has expanded to become today a worldwide company exporting to thirty countries throughout the World. Located in Ceyzeriat, near Bourg en Bresse, in the Ain department, the company operates from a spacious 1 700m² building.

All of our furniture is created locally in two separate workshops : one is dedicated to furniture design and manufacturing, and the other one to finishes.

The company is ecologically minded and benefits from an autonomous heating system provided by its own waste. The company’s strenghts lie in its capacity to provide tailor made solutions to an increasingly targeted market need, as well as in its capacity to produce non standard furniture, and in the professionalism of its craftsmen.

The president and designer, Gabriel Temporal, and his team are constantly widening their product range, the latest being the creation of a Forties range, and in the near future a brand new bathroom Collection.

Atelier de Brou offers you a modern touch to traditional styles, copies of antique furniture or creations that will enhance your living space.  We only use french woods to manufacture our furniture : walnut, cherrywood and oak for stained finishes or beech, lime and oak for lacquered finishes.

All our items are designed with the greatest respect to the ethic of high quality cabinet making.  All of our products are produced from A to Z in our workshops, from production to finishes, by high skilled cabinet makers, whose unique desire is to satisfy the needs of our customers.  All references are produced in small quantities, with traditional jointing (by tenons and mortises, dovetails for drawers, and by grooves and strips for boards, top and bottom of furniture).  They are then stored in brut awaiting the chosen finish.

Then each piece of furniture is taken individually for aging, leading to the restitution of an antique charm.  This is followed by the application of a water based dye for tinted furniture, or undercoat for lacquered furniture.

After several stages of polishing and vanishing, the final touch is given by the application of a beeswax "terre de siena" mix. Gold or silver off sets leaves are applied on a red or blue base.

Decorative handware is in solid brass for rings, knobs and for some handles.  Keyholes, handles, feet as well as other decoration are in bronze and personalized to the clients requirements.  On the back of each article of furniture the Atelier de Brou stamp can be found.
